Volunteer opportunity description

You will assist the Director in the day to day activities of running a small nonprofit, as well as work collaboratively shooting, producing and editing footage for short educational documentaries.

You will help develop weekly activities and field trips for residents at a homeless shelter and work collaboratively with other volunteers to accompany shelter participants to a variety of arts and cultural activities and events. These activities will offer individuals the opportunity to learn how to use a camera while exploring the world around them through a different lens.

Additional Responsibilities:

·      Assist in the end-to-end process from storyboarding to logistics to shooting to editing and publishing

·      Produce new videos using existing original footage/photography

·      Contribute to mixing and editing to create polished and engaging videos

·      Post videos to Web sites and share via social channels

·      Grow online social networks by increasing fan-base and interactions

·      Do online outreach and promotion using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and more

·      Assist in online fundraising campaigns

·      Perform research to find articles, stories, resources or other content that is relevant

Requirements

Requirements:

You must be creative, giving and curious about the world and the people around you...

·      Have a proficiency in Final Cut or Premier, and working knowledge of editing in RAW. 

·      Experience creating video content from conception through completion

·      Ability to create social media campaigns

·      Interest (and, ideally experience) in social impact work – a passion for helping humanity is a must!
