Volunteer opportunity description

Volunteer to help dogs and cats in need! Care for animals at the shelter, help at adoption events, transport animals, provide administrative support. They won't make it without you.

PAWS' dedicated volunteers mean the difference between life and death for Philadelphia's animals. Whether you help at adoption events, care for dogs and cats at the shelter, transport animals or supplies, or even provide administrative support, your time and compassion will make a tremendous difference. We have volunteer opportunities to fit every schedule and preference. We can't do it without you!

Help save lives in a variety of ways:

-Care for cats by cleaning cages, feeding, administering medications, providing TLC
-Care for dogs by walking, socializing, bathing, and training
-Assist with filing and adoption paperwork
-Photograph and write profiles for adoptable animals to market them to potential adopters
-Join volunteer "street teams" to educate and inform the public about low-cost spay/neuter surgery and veterinary care offered by PAWS
-Assist veterinary staff during procedures (qualified individuals only: nurses, technicians, veterinary students, etc.)
-Represent PAWS at off-site adoption events by staffing an information table or handling adoptable animals
-Transport animals to foster homes and satellite adoption locations

Help is needed at all our main locations:

-PAWS Adoption Center: 2nd and Arch Streets
-PAWS Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic: 2900 Grays Ferry Avenue
- PAWS Northeast Adoption Center and Clinic: 1810 Grant Avenue

There is no minimum time commitment required to volunteer, though you can have the greatest impact by committing to a weekly shift. If you have a special skill set or interest not covered by this list, please contact us to discuss ways to get involved!

Please visit www.phillypaws.org/volunteer and fill out the online form to get started. Once we receive your form, someone will be in touch to schedule an orientation.
